Yo everyone,
Just to inform all you BJJnatics, Fight Zone Malaysia (KL), headed by 2001 ADCC champion Prof. Marcos Escobar, is currently hosting Fight Zone Academy black belt Rodrigo ‘Brucutu’ Cabral, a multiple times BJJ Champion and Black Belt under the legendary Leo Vieira, in KL. There are proposed plans to bring Rodrigo down to KK for a seminar so do stay tune for further (and confirmed) updates!!
I’ve had the pleasure to roll with Rodrigo and it was a blast (private lessons are definitely on the my wish lists!)! Rodrigo will guide and encourage you as you train/roll. So do stop by FZMY if you can (a weblink is available) or do enquire BJJ Borneo head coach, Allen ‘Bajau Nobita’ Chong, for further inquires.
Till then, ROLL SMART, ROLL HARD and ROLL safe!!
OIIEEE!!!!

A huge congratulations to BJJ Borneo’s Heavyweight champ DARREN LOW: Gold (Gi – <100kg). Tho one might have super ‘Orang Utan’ strength, but in BJJ, techniques & leverage are the ultimate key. And Darren’ s one grappler who combines both very well.
Darren was the 2008 Phillipines BJJ International medalist with Gold (Gi- <100.5kg), Silver (No-Gi – <91.5kg) & Bronze (No-Gi – Absolute). Good work brotha!! Pics to be posted soon… ;0)
By the way…here’s the pic of the group in Manila December 2008…which Allen (our coach) forgot to post. Hahaha shorty!!!

(L-R) Squatters : Winston & Steve (fastest BJJ white belt submission).
(L-R) Standing: Karole, Allen (coach) – Gold/No-Gi Intermediate 67.5-73.5 kg, Enoch (Le Playboy) – Bronze/No-Gi Basic 67.5-73.5kg, Susanna, Hamid (Le Lawman) & Darren (triple medalists).

All right….CNY has come & gone!! Time to raise our newly-filled heavy butts & TRAIN like the Brazilians!! Now, for some news:
1. As some may know (current members), we might be moving to a new location (@ Core Fitness). However, till we have confirmed that, we shall continue to train at YMCA Damai (the Holy Shaolin Pitt of Team BJJ Borneo).
2. Take note of training schedule (7:00pm – 8.30pm. All levels combined). Tuesday & Thursday with Saturday as Open Mat @ 2pm. Be brave current member, be brave & train forward!!
3. Sabah is also known as North Borneo. We are very much modern as we don’t live on trees and if we did, our BJJ will be much more deadlier than you think (LOL).
That’s it for now!! Train hard & train safe wherever you are!!!
