Allen ChongAllen learned the art since end of 2005 in Geelong, Australia under the tutelage of Master John Will (Director & Founder of the Australasia Will-Machado Association to which BJJKK is affiliated with). After much hard work & dedication, Coach Allen received his blue belt in early 2007 prior his return to Kota Kinabalu (or more affectionately referred to as KK).

Coach Allen started to teach BJJ to interested students in his backyard on August 2007 due to an absence of BJJ practitioners in the area. A suitable premise was later established at the YMCA building (Damai) to teach the art of BJJ. By November, the club had more than a dozen active students and hence, the need to establish a proper committee to direct the future of BJJ in KK due to its growing popularity. After much effort to formalize the establishment of the club, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Kota Kinabalu Association was officially established on 17th November 2008 with the Registrar of Societies Malaysia (R.O.S). Allen Chong is now a 2nd stripe Blue Belt under Checkmat Malaysia.
