Team BJJ Borneo of
Persatuan Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Kota Kinabalu (BJJKK)
is an internationally competitive Brazilian jiu-jitsu team based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia led by their Chief Coach Allen Solomon Chong. It is BJJKK’s aim to boost student confidence, health, well-being and nurture positive attitudes in a safety oriented mat culture. Whether you’re an avid martial artist looking to expand their repertoire, seeking self defence skills or a combat sport hobby, even to simply to meet new people, all are welcomed here. We teach Brazilian jiu-jitsu in a safe non-confrontational environment where everyone can grow and improve.
This is not a traditional martial arts program. We do not enforce meticulous rituals and extreme hierarchical subservience. Our trade is based on what is effective, efficient and can be accessible in a short period of time. This is absolutely the cutting edge of self defence programs that’s proven in confrontations and pressure tested. The syllabus we teach is brought together by experts in the field delivered to you from a panel of instructors that has proven themselves in competition.
To date, the club has recently participated in various competitions around the South East Asian region including the Philippines and Thailand. The club continually strives to increase their exposure to the sport through visits and improve their proficiency through competitions and research.
